The Alto Predict Project
The Alto Predict Project is an open science project to organize our knowledge of the causal mechanisms underlying drug effects on human outcomes at the cell and pathway level. This project is inspired by the AOP framework approach being developed for chemical safety assessments, but with an expanded scope to include drug efficacy mechanisms and an exclusive focus on human data. The Alto Predict Project will bring together experts to organize, connect and curate this data through an online portal that fulfills the following:
- Imparts the current best knowledge of drug effects in people (efficacy measures and adverse effects)
- Lays out causal outcome pathways that connect molecular events to specific cellular and tissue events to clinical outcome measures
- Provides a mapping of NAMs (new alternative methods) including in vitro assay systems (and data) onto these causal outcome pathways
- Enables open and easy access to all researchers with visualization and search capabilities developed using human centered design principles
We are recruiting collaborators and partners for this project, so if you are interested or just would like to receive project updates, let us know here.
